A really personal project for me.
My mother left our home of 51 years, a big busy house that over the years had 8 of us living there. Over a series of a few months before she left I went to shoot it, in the hope that I'd captured some memories of our lives there.
It was very odd photographing something so familiar, it was like viewing it for the first time when I held the camera up to it, I'd stopped noticing things that were so familiar.
Each object and view point, held a special memory or story.
This is the power of photography at its best , to encapsulate memories for us to look back and remember. Where would we be without that?
